My name is Heather Wilson and I am excited to return for a fourth year at Myers Park. I am originally from Snow Hill, North Carolina- a small town in the eastern part of the state. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in History. I was a NC Teaching Fellow at UNC. I completed a Masters of Education degree from Wake Forest University. I spent two years teaching in the Durham Public School System and three years in Cabarrus County Schools. I have taught United States History, Civics & Economics and AP U.S. Government. I live in Charlotte with my husband (an alum of MPHS), my one year old son Everett and our dog Molly. In my spare time I enjoy traveling and cheering for the Tar Heels!
History is not everything, but it is a starting point. History is a clock that people use to tell their political and cultural time of day. It is a compass they use to find themselves on the map of human geography. It tells them where they are but, more importantly, what they must be.
